Treasurer’s Report:  Sandy Ferguson presented the Treasurer’s Report.  Marilyn Henninger moved, Terry Heggemeier seconded, to approve as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

Sandy reported the balance on the mortgage is $240,991.

Financial Secretary:  Brian Koski presented the financial report, which was reviewed by the committee.

Mission Money:  Kristi Stedman moved and Jerry Pederson seconded that $250.00 be given to a member of the congregation who is in need.  Motion carried unanimously.

Pastor’s Report:  Pastor Lee commented on what a great VBS we had and how good it is to have a facility that we can use in this way to reach out to the community.   Having the young people participate as volunteers was also a very positive experience for them.

We are gearing up for fall programming.  Wednesday evening Pastor Lee will be presenting a session on marriage enrichment for 6-7 weeks. We need another adult option and hopefully someone will volunteer to lead a study with a somewhat broader emphasis.  He also suggested that in the future he would like to do a study on end-of-life issues.

We received a $200 memorial for Ruth Dahlberg to be used for something for the kitchen.

Pastor Lee will be on vacation from July 28-August 11, which includes two Sundays.  Jerry Pederson has volunteered to preach on August 10.  August 3 still needs to be filled.

Evangelism: The Evangelism committee has developed their Mission Statement, which was presented.  The Basket class has had a good turnout and they are planning another one and hope to reach more from the community.  They are having about 16 at Tuesday Bible Study.

They would like to sponsor a Prayer Booth during the fair with music, hand out water bottles with a scripture and church information on the label, and a brochure.  They will need volunteers who can be in attendance to pray with those who stop by and also have a prayer box for anonymous requests.

This led to a discussion and the suggestion was made that we hand out a bottle of water to everyone who parks in the lot during the fair.  Clyde Stedman will have the labels printed and pickup 500 bottles of water.  Two people offered donations toward this project.A committee was formed to review the church’s Mission Statement, consisting of Gail Baublitz, Andrea Bussiere, Cheryl Heggemeier, Pastor Lee and Leon Finifrock.

SPPRC:  The Annual Conference has requested that we adopt a Computer and Internet User Policy and have every employee and volunteer that uses the church computer sign a Use Agreement.  The SPRC made a recommendation to the Ad Council that we modify and adopt the policy provided to us by the Annual Conference.  They also recommended that the Ad Council establish a committee to address the following computer use issues:  confidentiality, access, establishing separate email accounts for Pastor Lee and Trish, obtaining signed agreements from all users and establishing an audit process.  Clyde Stedman moved and Terry Heggemeier seconded that we accept the recommendation.  Motion carried unanimously.  Steve Aldrin agreed to chair the position and Gail Baublitz also volunteered.  A representative of the SPRC will also be part of the committee.

Worship:  No report.

Christian Education:  25 children attended VBS and 19 volunteers.  Although attendance was a little lower than in the past, those who attended had a great time.

The youth group held a car wash fundraiser on Wednesday to raise money for the mission trip to Montana in two weeks.  Jim indicated that they have raised enough money to cover the registration fee and the transportation.

Trustees:  The air conditioners have been installed in the offices.  Denny Olson did all of the wiring.  The tile in the narthex will need to be repaired this fall and the driveway needs to be sealed.

Old Business:  Clyde Stedman has contacted two banks, neither of which expressed an interest in refinancing the mortgage on the church.  Randy Myhre will talk to the bank and get information on refinancing costs and the current interest rate.

New Business:  A gift was purchased by the church for Laurie Kantonen in recognition of her ordination.

Adjourn:  Having no further business to discuss, Clyde Stedman moved, Brian Koski seconded a motion to adjourn.  Motion carried unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,

Kristi Stedman
